This next song is one I’ve been loving for a few months now. It’s called “Impossible Is Nothing” by Iggy Azalea. Think what you will about the woman herself, but if you’re looking for inspiration give the song a try.
It doesn’t hurt to know Iggy’s story – she grew up in Australia (possibly in poverty, as she hints at in her other music) and dropped out of high school. Instead of going to school, she chose to work her ass off to get the money to fly to the birthplace of rap – the United States. She knew she’d be close to her passion there, and she made a name for herself through her hard work and single-minded dedication.
“Keep on living, keep on breathing
Even when you don’t believe it.
Keep on climbing, keep on reaching
Even when this world can’t see it.
Impossible is nothing.”
I know a lot of people don’t like her, but I personally find her music really inspiring. This song reminds of an important reality – to reach the next level, you need to grind away while others are playing. You’ll have lots of moments of self doubt, boredom, and fear, but you need to push past it.
If you get caught up in the hate or laziness of others, if you let the momentary pain and sacrifice stop you, nothing will ever change. You’ll be stuck until you’re willing to make that commitment, and sometimes that promise to yourself isn’t always pretty – especially when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But sometimes you just need to believe it’s there, and keep pushing on.
